Synopsis
'The Merry Widow' is an operetta composed by the Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár, premiered in 1905. It tells the story of Hanna Glawari, a wealthy widow from the fictional country of Pontevedro, and the attempts of her fellow citizens to ensure that her fortune remains within their country by finding her a suitable husband. The plot involves romantic entanglements, misunderstandings, and comedic situations as various characters vie for Hanna's affections and her fortune. Despite its lighthearted tone and comic elements, the operetta also explores themes of love, loyalty, and social status. With its memorable melodies and charming storyline, "The Merry Widow" has remained one of the most popular and enduring operettas of all time.

I worked as an Assistant director on this project.
