Synopsis
Hindered by the devil's tricks from meeting his lover Stella, Hoffmann recounts his love stories to students. His first love, Olympia, is an automaton created by the scientist Spalanzani, but she is ultimately shattered by the doll maker Coppelius. His second love, Antonia, talented in singing with a warm heart but frail, succumbs while singing under the mesmerism of the doctor Miracle. His third lover, Giulietta, a high-class courtesan who steals men's souls, is a pawn of the sorcerer Dapertutto, mocking Hoffmann to his downfall and even committing murder. In reality, Hoffmann's lover Stella also falls prey to the temptation of the devil, disguised as Lindorf, and leaves with him. Hoffmann and all involved sing that through trials, humans grow even more profoundly through love.
I worked as an Assistant director on this project.
