Synopsis
"Red Shoes" is based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. It tells the story of a poor girl named Karen who comes into possession of enchanted red shoes that compel her to dance uncontrollably. As she loses control and suffers, Karen seeks help but is shunned by others. Desperate to break the curse, she asks a woodsman to cut off her feet, freeing her from the shoes' spell. Despite the tragic loss, Karen finds inner peace. This opera explores themes of desire, consequences, and the true meaning of happiness.

I worked as an Assistant director on this project.
