Synopsis
This contemporary dance piece critiques the results-oriented nature of Korean society and emphasises the importance of the process. The performance encourages the audience to reconsider the significance and value found in the journey, not just the end result. Additionally, it raises awareness about the serious issue of environmental pollution, portraying the severity of the process of environmental degradation. The piece conveys profound messages about society and the environment.
Costume Design Concept
The performance contains a message about environmental pollution and the importance of the process. My idea was to use an outfit that could be made on the stage using cloth. The point was not to use any tools while making the costume. The dancer’s costume was a simple cloth draped in the ancient Greek style. It tried to express our desire to return to nature with minimal costume. With the blue fabric, the dancer tried to express a marine animal caught in a net. This performance gave a powerful message to the audience.
